PRAYERSREQUESTED: Colon, Philip J. (MC1962) prays for Bonomini, Lou [MC1951]

2014-Aug-24

Good Evening All,

Mike McEneney received a note from his Mt. St. Michael Classmate and Fellow Jasper, John Sullivan ’63. John asks for our prayers for another Fellow Jasper and former neighbor of Mike’s, Lou Bonomini ’51. Lou has been diagnosed with Liver Cancer and needs our prayers. Some of you may know Lou. He is a Korean War Veteran and Member of VFW Post # 8213, Somers, N.Y. Please keep Lou and his Family in your prayers as we pray that the MDs contain the Cancer and are able to begin the process of restoring Lou to good health again. Thank you John for sharing the information with us. God Bless.

John McAuliffe

John McAuliffe is a Manhattan College graduate hailing from the Wu-Tang inhabited Staten Island, New York. His weekends are filled with a combination of football and futbol alongside a cold beer. When he isn’t writing about or watching sports, John likes figure out how not to sound like a jerk when he tells people he has read all the Game Of Thrones books.

JEMAIL: McEneney, Mike (MC1953) reports Judge Keenan [MC1951] gets mentioned in the NYT

2014-Feb-05

Dear John,

Yesterday’s NY Times has an article about an interesting and unusual case decided by Judge Keenan,’51 about a young man, who is self described as an anarchist, who refused to testify before a Grand Jury and was jailed for contempt. The Judge released him, despite his continued refusal to testify, when he wrote “There will never come a time for Koch (the young man) where his only remaining option is to testify. . .The court concludes that continued confinement will not move Koch from the reflexive ideology that forbids his cooperation with the serious investigation at hand.”

An interesting concept.

JEMAIL: Fennell, Jim (MC1951) on Winn Dixie Christmas Decoration policy

2013-Dec-14

John

Just had a very interesting chat with the manager of a local Winn Dixie supermarket that is completely devoid of any Christmas decorations. He told me that corporate polcy prohibits any store provided Christmas decorations. Only when Christmas appears on items for sale is the term permitted. Maybe we should make them devoid of customers in area where they exist.

Merry Christmas

Fennell, Jim (MC1951)

[JR: Wow, that’s a tough one. It’s their “free speech” and your “free association”. On one hand, I think that the “Christmas spirt” of many is fake, fraud, phony. In a way, it’s disrespectful. ChikFila with closing on Sunday and HobbyLobby on Obamacare are at least authentic. So, I’d suggest further investigation. Is the Winn Dixie policy “authentic”? For example, do they allow the Salvation Army kettle outside their store? Or prohibit it? That would be how I’d decide. Are they trying to be respectfully authentic and not deceiving you that “they care” when they don’t. I think I would prefer “authentic indifference” than “deceitful saccharine actions”. Merry and Happy to all. Remember I am a fan of Ebineezer, pre-conversion! ]

Reporter :  Fennell, Jim (MC1951)

What did you find?: A new song is listed on You Tube called “Say Merry Christmas.” It was written in response to the relentless assault on the great holiday which is attempting to remove any reference to the word Christmas. Please give it a listen.

“Say Merry Christmas.”

The American Christian Life United Choir – Join in!

Every Christmas, the media and PC police tell us, the Christian majority, what we can do and say to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. If you’ve had “enough” of this biased propaganda and believe in the true meaning of Christmas…now’s your chance to fight back and bring Christ back into Christmas.

As you know, Christmas is being twisted and turned, pushed and pulled by politically correct merchants who enjoy the ride on the Christmas sleigh…but won’t give Christ the recognition and honor he deserves. So, let’s challenge these stores with our wallets…and patronize only the stores that celebrate the true meaning of Christmas.

If we do what the kids say in the song “If it don’t say Merry Christmas in the window…then you don’t go in that store” you’ll be amazed at how fast the word gets-out. And maybe once again, Christmas will become…what it was…and what it was always meant to be, a Celebration of Christ’s Birth!

Each download will be registered as an “authentic” vote for bringing Christ back into Christmas. So, let’s terrify the media, by showing proof positive, that we Christians, all 230 million of us, are sick-and-tired of being the piñata…for every misguided, politically motivated cause!

Download “Say Merry Christmas” today!…make “your” voice heard with “your” vote…and we’ll make “Say Merry Christmas” the biggest Christmas song of all time! Call your “radio station” and ask them to play “Say Merry Christmas” …We have the strength in numbers…

Let’s use it!
